She is the only chiropractor in the UK and the European Union who practices NUCCA. She treats patients from all over the UK and the world who regularly travel to her for NUCCA care.

Dr. Grant initially sought the care of a chiropractor to address her neck and low back pain that resulted after a road traffic accident. After experiencing incredible pain relief, increased flexibility and well-being, she decided to switch careers and become a chiropractor herself.

Dr. Grant graduated Summa Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California with her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class and is also listed in the “Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities”. Dr. Grant also holds a Master of Applied Science degree in industrial toxicology from the prestigious McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As a chiropractic student, Dr. Grant had the opportunity to treat patients in Central America; she volunteered several weeks of her time in Managua and surrounding areas. She was also a volunteer participant with Youth Challenge International, the Canadian version of Britain’s Operation Raleigh, and worked in Central America for several months on various international development projects.

Dr. Grant is a registered Chiropractor with the UK General Chiropractic Council and is also a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in the State of California. Following eight years of training in China, Ping Xu graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) medicine, followed by a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese and Western medicine; and she is now an Advanced Member of ATCM (The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, UK).

After completing her training, she worked for five years both as an Advanced TCM Doctor for the only hospital in Beijing offering an integrated programme of treatment in both TCM and Western Medicine and as a part-time TCM Lecturer at its affiliated colleges. With the background in TCM and also in Western medicine, she is experienced in:

  • Chronic pain syndromes: she has been able to show how these widespread problems can be effectively helped by these ancient but balanced approaches as has indeed been shown by numerous studies.
  • Sports injuries: working together with physiotherapists, it has proven possible bring about a much quicker recovery than with recourse to one therapy alone.
  • Infertility: she has been able to help many families (with over 70 babies and six pairs of twins being born either naturally or as a result of IUI or IVF in the past 6 years).
  • Gynaecological disorders: a great many female patients have been successfully relieved of persistent irritation.
  • Gastro-intestinal and respiratory diseases: in many cases symptoms have been brought under control with the help of only acupuncture or Chinese herb.
  • Different types and stages of cancer: using holistic methods she has been able to enhance effect (while reducing the side-effects) of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and so to improve her patients’ quality of life.
  • Holistic and balanced approach to improve general underlying state of health: Sub-Health State (SHS) may include stress, anxiety, panic, depression, emotion swings, poor concentration and memory, insomnia, eating disorders, fatigue, ect. all of which may very typically result from the modern urban style of life. In dealing with these problems, as indeed in the great majorities of other cases, she is happy to have been able to work in co-operation with a number of outstanding physiotherapists, osteopaths, podiatrists, nutritionists and psychologists.

Above all, she offers an exhaustive and comprehensive initial consultation based on a fully integrated Chinese and Western medical approach combined with a detailed analysis of your present life style.

Nigel Roe

Physiotherapist

Nigel Roe is a New Zealand physiotherapist with 18 years  experience and a special interest in sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation. He qualified from Otago School of Physiotherapy in 1990, and went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in manipulative physiotherapy at Otago University in 1993. This is a year-long full time course for specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and pain of spinal or limb origin.

He has worked for 11 years in private practice, and spent 3 years with North Harbour New Zealand Provincial Rugby Team, 4 years with the Fijian International Rugby Team, and 6 years as London based Saracens Rugby Medical Team leader. As of September 2004, he has run private clinics at Triyoga in Primrose Hill, and the Laboratory Spa & Health Clubs in Muswell Hill and Hendon, bringing his extensive background in orthopaedic and sports injury treatment and rehabilitation to the general public.

In addition to sporting injuries, he assesses and treats a wide range of occupational, post surgical and personal injury problems in all age groups. Injury prevention including running video analysis, running shoe assessment and advice, muscle imbalance screening and postural assessment are also available. Education to help you understand your injury/problem, and exercise to address contributing flexibility, strength and core stability faults are key components to this preventative approach. A closely supervised and structured rehabilitation exercise programme, where appropriate, is prescribed for home and/or gym setting as an integral part of treatment.

Nigel’s treatment techniques are principally “hands on”, using joint mobilising and manipulation techniques, muscle and soft tissue release, and trigger point release techniques, Laser and ultrasound electrotherapy are available as adjuncts to treatment.

He has developed an extensive network of London based medical consultants specialising in upper limb, spinal and lower limb orthopaedic surgery, and he can advise on referral to the best of medical care where necessary.

Nigel has been in the UK for 11 years from his native New Zealand, has married a local lass, and in his spare time loves skiing, running, tennis, mountain biking, surfing and of course rugby, but now as a spectator!  He has overcome a number of personal injury problems including knee surgery, muscle tears, ligament strains, and back and neck injuries, and so has a good understanding of the problems and frustration involved in personal injury.

He is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and The Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice, and is registered with all major health Insurance companies. Please feel free to ask if you are unsure about your injury or problem’s suitability for treatment.
